Why Datastory is Retiring the News Index

For over three years, Datastory has been tracking how the Swedish media are covering the countries of the world. As our source for this data is shutting down operations, we are retiring our News Index service.

The idea behind the News Index was to find out the blank spots of the Swedish media's global coverage. Our service continually ranked the world's countries from top to bottom in the number of articles mentioning them.

Sadly, we are now being forced to retire the service. The data provider MyNewsFlash has ceased operations. Until we find a new provider of news data or implement a robust scraper ourselves, the News Index will no longer be maintained.
